There are 770 astronomers in the US, 700 geographers, half a million lawyers (making on average 107k$ a year), twelve thousand athletes (making on average $90k a year, man that profession is top heavy), and 15,000 slot key persons. (I think that last one is a casino position, but I'm not sure.)
What would be really cool would be if they had the standard deviation of each profession's yearly income.

...and less than 2500 mathematicians. No more than in a large high school (these days, anyway). I was surprised there were so many more physicists.
