Yeah, according to Retro Junk | NES Time Attack Videos a lot of them are done on emulators in slow mo mode and/or piecemeal creations where each level might be attempted 100 times or so.
Do you remember telling me that you'd found that newsgroup post of mine where the thread was about Super Punch Out records?
